Frequently asked questions
What is the Odisage Score and how is it calculated?
The Odisage Score is a score from 0 to 100, a weighted sum of five criteria, each rated from 0 to 100: build quality (30%), performance (25%), reliability (20%), ergonomics and ease of use (15%) and value for money (10%). Each score also takes into account how many independent sources we found: with few reviews we apply a small amount of caution, with many agreeing sources we reward the product. The details are on the Methodology page.
What does the Odisage Certified badge mean?
It is awarded to products with an Odisage Score of 90 or higher, the same threshold for every category. It is not a subjective judgment but a numerical threshold applied consistently, and it can be withdrawn if a later review brings the score below the limit.
What does Odisage Verified mean?
These are products with an in-depth analysis and a verdict written by the editorial team, based on the sources collected and, where marked “Tested by Odisage”, also on direct use of the product. A product can be Verified without being Certified, and vice versa.
Where does the product data come from?
Specifications and prices start from the official pages of manufacturers and retailers, and the descriptions are rewritten by the editorial team. We don't use third-party images or text without permission. Prices are indicative and may change: before buying, always check the price on the retailer's site.
Do prices include VAT?
No: the prices shown exclude VAT. When a product is sold in dollars we convert it to euros at the exchange rate of the period, so the final amount may vary slightly. Some products have several sizes or versions: in that case the price shown in the list is preceded by “from” and refers to the cheapest option.
How do I choose a cartridge size?
Cartridges are grouped by brand and type (Round Liner, Round Shader, Magnum and others). On the product page you choose series, type, gauge, number of needles, taper and pack: the price updates and the buy button takes you, where possible, to the exact size on the retailer's site.
Can I compare products from different categories, for example a machine with an ink?
No. Odisage Compare lets you compare up to three products, but always from the same category, because the relevant technical specifications (stroke and voltage for machines, viscosity and capacity for inks) cannot be compared across different categories.
Are the purchase links affiliate links?
Not for now: the buy buttons lead to retailers' pages and Odisage does not receive commissions. If we join affiliate programs in the future we will say so clearly, at no cost to you and without influencing scores or reviews. The details are on the Affiliate Disclosure page.
What can Odisage AI do?
Odisage AI has two tools, available with an account: Odisage Studio, the assistant you can ask about machines, inks, comparisons and guides, and Brush Tool Creator, which prepares a Procreate brush from your description. Each user has a daily number of requests (currently 40, renewed every day at midnight). Answers may contain errors: always verify important information. Stencil generation is not available at the moment.
Is Learn free? Do I need an account?
Learn collects guides, articles and a glossary about the tattoo world and is reserved for registered users. Registration is free.
How do I delete my account and my data?
From the account settings you can edit your data and delete the account: your AI chats are deleted as well. Chats older than 12 months from the last activity are deleted automatically anyway. For other requests about your data write to us from the Contact page; you'll find all the details in the Privacy Policy.
Which cookies does Odisage use?
Only technical cookies, needed for login, to remember the language and your cookie choice. We don't use profiling or advertising cookies. You can change your choice whenever you like from the Cookie Policy.
How can I suggest a product to add to the database?
From the Contact page choose “Product suggestion” and give brand, model and category: the editorial team will consider adding it together with its spec sheet.
Do you also show the flaws of products?
Yes. Every product page lists pros and cons based on technical data, reviews and feedback collected. We use measured words and no harsh judgments about manufacturers, but we always point out the relevant limits: the goal of the Odisage Score is to help you choose, not to promote a single brand.
